This art work has been in my studio for ages. Its had many layers and I was at a point of thinking that it was time to take the canvas off its stretcher (it had become somewhat heavy with the many layers of paint and other media) and start with a new piece of canvas. However, I was somewhat conflicted as I was attached to this work, its been a difficult child but quite beautiful in its own way. Today I took the it out of my studio and hung it in a domestic situation and WOW!!!!  It looks amazing. The contrast of the black and stainless steel grey paint is so  beautiful  in this room. This shows the importance of context.

No! I won’t destroy it tonight, I will continue to give it my consideration before I take any further action – or it may remain hanging where it is as a finished piece.
